Most of us are either thinking about cutting the cable cord or have already done so, but now what?
How do we get our much needed binge worthy obsessions? With so many streaming options and types, how do we choose?
First, a device is needed to stream the content but which do you choose? Being a devout Apple fan, I started this journey with an Apple TV. The third generation to be exact, this was about 3 years ago. At the time I still had cable so it was used more for streaming movies and music from my iMac and watching Netflix. Oh yea, and watching this little show called Game of Thrones on HBO. Not sure if you have heard of it?
It was fine and did what it was supposed to do but you can not add apps. The third generation comes pre loaded with apps. The newer generation does have the capability to add apps.
My brother told me about the Amazon Fire TV stick and figured I would give it a shot. I have not looked back since, I also figured a way to make it into a wired ethernet connection.
The Fire TV is a great streaming device, easy to use and you can download a ton of apps for your viewing pleasure.
To sum it up I use
Apple TV(but a lot less frequently)
Netflix
Amazon Prime Video
HD Antenna for Over the Air channels such as CBS, FOX, etc.
